Josh was my bestfriend from the day we got him until the end.

He loved running in the fields and chasing tennis balls. But best of all he liked playing sticks,
when I say sticks I really mean giant lumps of wood. The bigger the better. I always remember one of
his favourite toys at home was a six foot fence post and and wooden mallet head, I am not joking.
Also he enjoyed jumping and he even managed to jump four foot. I also remember the trip to the sea
side he wasn't to sure to begin with but he he soon learned to love it.

But what also stays with is the night when he lost him. We layed curled up in fron of the telly
watching titanic and then we took him for a walk where he liked to play in the local park, he
especially loved the slide. Then back at home I went outside to the garage to get something and I
didn't shut the side gate properly and Josh followed me out. Then it happen he saw a fox and just
ran, ran straight in to the path of the oncoming car. I will always remember the noise of that car
hitting him. I ran to him. He had been hit so had the car had lost its bumper and he had thrown in
to a lamp post. The car never stopped. He was still alive when I got to him but in shock and had
severe injuries. He died on route in my arms to the vets. I will never forgot the look he gave me,
the look that said it wasn't your fault and you shouldn't blame yourself but it is my time to go.I
have never seen such a distruaght vet and vet nurse. But I would like to thank the other cars that
did stop and the people who helped that night.

I will always you love Josh you were my bestfriend and I will never forget you. A part of you lives
on in you brother, Blue, our new puppy who we have had for 4 months. But I will never replace you,
you were one in a million. Miss you every day. Love you forever xxx

"The light of my life"

You have to stay this time mummy
I now have to be free
Don't be so sad mummy
for now I'm at peace
Let go of your pain, let it take part of you
because from out of these ashes, a new life will bloom
Don't look for me in places I have been
I am in your heart mummy
and inside your soul
..and everything that reminds you of me
see, I'm not really gone
Don't be lost in the dark
or scared when you're alone
My spirit is near you, and my light will shine on

'to be blind and not see her magic and what she's given me
- to sit in the dark alone and not embrace what love I've been shown
now that, would be the tragedy'

god bless you joshxxxx

"OLD DOG IN A LOCKET"
Old dog in a locket,
That lays next to my heart;
I will always love you,
As I did right from the start.
You were right beside me,
Through the darkest of my days;
It was your kind and gentle nature,
That made me want to stay.
Now I hold you in my arms,
Your breath still warm against my hand;
Our hearts still beat together,
And I wonder if you understand.
Through the hours that I held you,
Before the light did leave your soul;
I knew a way to keep you,
Forever in my hold.
I snipped the hair from around your eyes,
So I would always see;
The beauty that surrounds me,
Even in times of need.
I snipped the hair from around your ears,
So I would always hear;
Music in the distance,
To quiet any fears.
I snipped the hair from across your back,
To bring me strength in time of need;
And the power of your essence,
Would always be with me.
I snipped the hair from around your heart,
That beat in time with mine;
So I would know that love would find me,
At some distant time.
And so, your life slipped out of mine,
On a quiet Spring-like day;
But I knew that a part of you,
Was always here to stay.
Old dog in a locket,
That lays next to my heart;
I will always love you,
Even though we had to part.

For Josh

A Tribute to your pet dog

When God had made the earth and sky
the flowers and the trees,
He then made all the animals
the fish, the birds and bees.

And when at last He'd finished
not one was quite the same.
He said, "I'll walk this world of mine
and give each one a name."

And so He traveled far and wide
and everywhere He went,
a little creature followed Him
until it's strength was spent.

When all were named upon the earth
and in the sky and sea,
the little creature said,
"Dear Lord,there's not one left for me."

Kindly the Father said to him
"I've left you to the end
I've turned my own name back to front
and called you dog, My friend

R.I.P Josh

I just have to say what a heartbreaking & heartfelt story. Josh clearly meant the world to you and I can totally relate to that as I have a 2 year old GSD & he is one daft hairy lump but he like Josh is very loved by his family & it must of been horrible for you to loose him in such a horrible way. Im sure the two of you will one day meet again! R.I.P you handsome man!

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

A THOUSAND TIMES WE'VE NEEDED YOU
A THOUSAND TIMES WE'VE CRIED
IF LOVE ALONE COULD HAVE SAVED YOU
YOU WOULD NEVER OF DIED

TWO TWINKLING EYES CLOSED TO REST
GOD BROKE OUR HEARTS TO PROVE HE ONLY TAKES THE BEST
NEVER A DAY GOES BY THAT YOUR NOT IN MY HEART AND SOUL.
